Cats in the African veldt
Cats big and small.
Late one evening, we came across a pride of lions eating a Rhino carcass.
Lioness nursing cubs
Late on an overcast afternoon, we came across a very relaxed lioness nursing her cubs.
Young leopard cub, patiently waiting for her mother to come home.
Leopard up a tree
We came across this young male leopard after following the sounds of an agitated herd of buffalo. They had discovered this young guy who took refuge in the nearest large tree
Civet at night
Had an awesome sighting of a civet just sitting up a tree eary one evening. Taken with a red light, hand held, came out way better than I thought that it would.
Gazing into the distance
Under the very sparse shade in the Namib, we came across a pride of lions relaxing in the meagre shade they found.
Regal Young Male Lion
This young male, hovering on the fringes of the pride, was just starting to show his mane.
She has her eyes on us
One of our very first lion sightings, she was keeping a good eye on what we were up to
The smaller cats are way more engaging & difficult to find.
Lions can be boring. You normally find lions just lying around so getting shots of them doing something is a bonus.
Heres some shots of the other cats as well.
